Rainbow Light was founded in 1981 in beautiful Santa Cruz, California by a team of individuals with a shared passion for providing healthy nutritional supplements grounded in the power of nature and produces healthy multivitamins and nutritional supplements.

The Rainbow Light name ties back to the first product they offered—spirulina. In the early days, during nutritional content testing procedures, our researchers discovered that spirulina refracted all the colors of the rainbow under a light spectrophotometer. These rainbow colors revealed the full spectrum of nutritional constituents present in spirulina. Inspired by the power of nature, viewed through the lens of science, the brand name was born.
